Vision Group boosts Team Uganda

VISION Group has joined a group of sponsors that will support Team Uganda’s bid for gold at the 2012 Olympics that start in London on July 27.The Uganda team departs for the Olympics next week and has so far attracted sponsorship from Umeme, British Airways and now Vision Group.

Vision Group’s Marketing Manager , Print and Printing Aaron Aguma and handed over to Uganda Olympic Committee a cheque of sh4.6millon at the weekly Olympics 2012 press conference at the UOC offices at Lugogo. Chef de Mission of the Uganda team Dennis Galabuzi received the offer.

The sh4.6m will enable the Uganda Olympic Commitee print the Team Uganda sourvenir magazine. The magazine will be handed to the team at the team send-off next week.

Vision Group, a leading multi-media corporation, started as a newspaper in 1986 but has in the past 10 years moved into TV, radio and mobile. Today the company has two daily newspapers, three regional weekly papers, two quarterly magazines, three television stations, six radio stations, websites and an SMS media platform.

Vision Group has been a great partner of the UOC and has sent a reporter to cover the fortunes of the the Ugandan team at every Olympics since 1988. Hillary Nsambu was at Seoul in 1988, Davd Ssepuuya in Barcelona in 1992, Wangwe Mulakha in Atlanta in 1996, Kenneth Matovu in Sydney in 2000, James Lwanga in Athens in 2004, and Louis Jadwong in Beijing in 2008.
